MOD Defence Engineering and Science Group Application Procedure

The Defence Engineering & Science Group (DESG) is the community of 9,000 professional engineers and scientists working within MoD Civil Service to equip and support the UK Armed Forces with state of the art technology. We are truly the force behind the forces

Welbeck forms the first step towards a career within the DESG. Our Civil Service Welbexians are expected to transfer to the Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme (DTUS) to study for an approved degree and will receive an annual bursary plus paid summer placements. Following graduation you will join the MoD on the prestigious MoD Defence Engineering and Science Graduate Scheme.

Applications for DESG for September 2012 entry are now closed. For further information on DESG please visit their website.

Applications for 2013 entry will be confirmed at a later date.

1. Follow the DESG Application link and complete the on-line DESG Welbeck application process; this consists of an application form and school tutor report.
2. Successful candidates will be invited to visit Welbeck College to provide further information (completion of a questionnaire) and will have the opportunity to listen to Welbeck representatives and also to have a tour of Welbeck College.
3. Successful candidates from stage '2' will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre to further assess their ability and suitability.
4. Successful candidates from stage '3' will be made a provisional offer (subject to required exam results) to join Welbeck DSFC.
5. A confirmed offer to join Welbeck DSFC will be made on confirmation of required exam results.
