Boarding Houses
Our boarding houses are extremely well appointed with facilities which are designed to create an atmosphere where our students can both relax in comfort and effectively manage the demands of their working day. The houses have three floors, with access to the female areas on the upper floor being controlled by coded key locks to ensure effective gender separation. Each house also has key coded entrances and exits which are electronically controlled and will only allow access to authorised persons.
Students enjoy relaxing and socialising in their house common rooms where they can watch TV, play games or listen to music. Each house also has a laundry with a bank of industrial washing machines and tumble driers – our students do most of their own washing and ironing, which is excellent preparation for university and military life!
Teenagers are renowned for their insatiable appetites, so each floor is equipped with a small kitchen which contains a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer. Biscuits, bread, jam, butter and milk are provided each evening to keep the students going between their evening meal and breakfast time.
Our Upper Sixth students generally have a single study bedroom whilst the Lower Sixth share a room for 2 or 3 people. Each study bedroom is specifically designed to meet the needs of 21st Century boarding with ample desk and storage space, and en suite bathroom facilities too. Each study bedroom room also has its own locking system and each student has a secure safe to ensure that he/she has the necessary privacy and security. Finally, each desk space has an internet connection where the students can communicate with the outside world via their College-issued laptop.
