Orienteering British Championship (May 2009)

On Sunday 10th May, a team of 3 students accompanied the OC, Major Smith, to the British middle distance orienteering championships. Two of us provided security on the controls, whilst the other two ran the orange course. Jake Bradley and Charles Calvert ran first. After a couple of mistakes, Charles finished with a time of 44:39, in 8th position and Jake Bradley positioned 9th, with a time of 47:05. Major Smith and Samuel Hurst followed. Major Smith positioned 4th out of 19 with a time of 30:32 and Sam took the equivalent time to find one point and finished with a time of 61:29, in 9th position. Overall the day was enjoyed by all and was good practice for more competition later in the year.
