On Saturday 27th January, after an exhausting few weeks of upper sixth exams and this terms PFTs, it was time for the college to let their hair down, it was time for a ParTy.
This half terms social was themed P and T, inviting students to compete against each other for the best costume, beginning with either P or T. The results were quite impressive, ranging from what appeared to be most of the Pirates of the Caribbean, to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and yes the Nelson boys found their excuse to cross-dress making up the host of prostitutes. Praise for Mr Mitchell, who came as a “party entertainer” (not a clown).

We sat down to our sandwiches, crisps and yes our 2 glasses of wine, the staff having finally managed to scrounge a corkscrew. As it was a party, what better thing to do than play party games, so bring on pass the parcel. If only someone has explained the rules to the boys! However we all had a good laugh and sat back ready to let the boys get fat from the huge chocolate bars, they finally won.

The snacks finally eaten, we drifted from the dinner hall into the quorum and quickly filled the dance floor although sadly some of the more extreme costumes had to be substituted for civvies due to their being completely impossible to dance in. Despite the promising start over the next hour the number of people dancing dwindled until only us hardy (or perhaps crazy) remained.
Neverless a good night was had by all whether eating, dancing, or just chatting with some good laughs along the way. Once again the social committee must be thanked for a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and thanks to all those who played the sets which kept us dancing all night.
