Trenchard Mess Dinner (May 2010)

On Friday 21st May 2010 Trenchard House held their Annual Mess Dinner at Prestwold Hall.
We commenced the evening with pre-dinner drinks at the House before boarding the transport to Prestwold. Upon arrival we were given Bucks Fizz and took the perfect opportunity for photographs in the garden. After this we went and took our seats for dinner in the beautifully laid out hall.

After a delicious meal of bahji’s, sausages, chicken and rich chocolate torte came the speeches. Squadron Leader Thomas, as the Guest of Honour, spoke first - she took us through her role in the RAF, her experience as a navigator on the Tornado and how she is part of the only all-female Tornado crew in the Royal Air Force. Next to speak was Mr Vice (traditionally the youngest male dining that night) and this year it was Jack Holmes whose speech was a little less formal, making jokes at the expense of students in the House!

After the relaxing meal and speeches, we retired into the various rooms within the mansion where we spent the remainder of the evening dancing and socialising with the other members of Trenchard House as well as the guests and House staff who attended.
All in all Trenchard House had an amazing night that will not be forgotten quickly.
